Beatlemania and the Rolling Stones

locations

information

Young people are crazy about the Beatles and not just because of their music - much to the bemusement of many older Berliners.

The Rolling Stones give a legendary concert in the West Berlin venue, the Waldbühne. The fans leave a trail of destruction in their wake.

East Berlin quickly uses the incident in its propaganda war against the West, classifying beat music as a decadent, Western influence and banning numerous bands.

{# Third-party scripts of the ARD video player. The player is not available as a package and expects jQuery and a few helpers as globals, so these stay classic scripts outside the module bundle. `PlayerView` (frontend/js/common/views/player.js) only talks to the resulting `window.ardplayer` namespace. Load order matters: jQuery and its plugins first, then the player core and its subtitle add-on. frontend/tests/markup.mjs reads this file, so the smoke test fails if a script goes missing. #}
